Behind every thriving community in Scotland lies a healthy village, town or city centre.
A location where the community can shop, meet together and use local services represents far more than a group of buildings. It provides a catalyst for people to grow, develop and prosper together - a heart for the community. For too long now, Linwood has lacked such a location. The town's outdated shopping centre, which once stood at the heart of the local community, is now unsuitable for today's requirements and can no longer attract shoppers to the town. As shops have left the centre, vacant units have become a magnet for vandalism and anti-social behaviour which has risked damaging Linwood's reputation.
Linwood deserves better and the time has come to develop a new town centre which local people can be truly proud of.
Through the Linwood Regeneration Partnership, the town now has a once-in-a-generation opportunity.
